General Skydiving Information
Tandem skydiving is the most popular way to experience the thrill of freefall for the first time. You are securely harnessed to an experienced instructor, who handles all aspects of the jump, including parachute deployment and landing. This allows you to fully enjoy the incredible sensation of freefall and the breathtaking views without needing extensive training.
It's an exhilarating adventure that typically involves a freefall from altitudes up to 14,000 feet, followed by a serene parachute ride back to earth. Our highly qualified instructors ensure your safety and provide an unforgettable experience.
The Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Program is a comprehensive training course designed for individuals who want to become licensed skydivers. Unlike tandem skydiving, AFF teaches you to jump solo from the very first leap, with two instructors holding onto you during freefall. As you progress through subsequent levels, you gain more independence.
Our AFF program follows a structured curriculum developed by the United States Parachute Association (USPA), focusing on freefall control, canopy piloting, and emergency procedures. It's an intense but incredibly rewarding path to becoming a certified skydiver.
Learn more about our AFF ProgramFor tandem skydiving, you must be at least 18 years old. There is no upper age limit, provided you are in good health. Weight restrictions typically apply for safety reasons. Most dropzones have a maximum weight limit of 220-240 lbs (100-109 kg), but this can vary. We recommend checking our Safety page or contacting us directly for specific requirements.
For the AFF program, similar age and weight restrictions apply, with additional physical fitness requirements due to the more demanding nature of solo jumps. We prioritize your safety and comfort above all else.
Safety & Equipment
Skydiving is an adventure sport with inherent risks, but modern equipment and rigorous safety protocols make it remarkably safe. Statistically, skydiving is safer than many everyday activities, thanks to advancements in parachute technology, mandatory training, and strict regulations by organizations like the USPA.
At SkyDive USA, we use state-of-the-art equipment, meticulously maintained and regularly inspected. Our instructors are highly certified and experienced professionals who adhere to the highest safety standards. We also utilize automatic activation devices (AADs) as an extra layer of safety, which automatically deploy the reserve parachute if certain parameters are met.
Explore our Safety ProceduresEach skydiver, including tandem pairs, uses a parachute rig containing two parachutes: a main canopy and a reserve canopy. The main canopy is deployed for the primary descent, while the reserve is a backup in case of a malfunction with the main.
Additionally, each rig is equipped with an Automatic Activation Device (AAD), a small computer that automatically deploys the reserve parachute if the skydiver is still in freefall below a certain altitude. We also provide goggles for eye protection and offer jumpsuits to wear over your clothes for comfort and warmth, especially at higher altitudes.

Booking your skydiving adventure with SkyDive USA is simple! You can easily book online through our secure booking system. Book Your Jump NowWe recommend wearing comfortable, athletic clothing appropriate for the weather. Layers are often a good idea, as it can be cooler at altitude. Sneakers or athletic shoes are essential; please avoid open-toed shoes, boots with hooks, or anything that could come off during the jump.
Don't forget to bring your photo ID, any required paperwork, and a positive attitude! You might also want to bring water and snacks, though we have facilities on-site. For safety reasons, personal cameras (e.g., GoPros) are not permitted for first-time tandem jumpers.
Weather & Cancellations
Skydiving is highly dependent on favorable weather conditions. For your safety, we cannot jump in high winds, heavy rain, or dense cloud cover. If the weather forecast indicates unsuitable conditions, we will contact you to reschedule your jump. We always prioritize your safety over keeping a schedule.
It's always a good idea to call us on the morning of your jump to confirm weather conditions. If your jump is canceled due to weather, we will work with you to find a new date that fits your schedule, or offer a full refund if rescheduling is not possible.
We understand that plans can change. For non-weather-related cancellations or rescheduling, we typically require at least 24-48 hours' notice. Please refer to our Terms of Service for the detailed cancellation and refund policy.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We strive to be flexible and accommodate our customers, but late cancellations may incur a fee or forfeiture of your deposit.
